Early development lessons in English - Construction in English in Cheryomushki

This academic year, we decided not only to update the curriculum, but also to replenish the list with new courses. Construction in English is a new unique course developed by the teachers of the Kids & Robots Robotics Club at Cheryomushki. The goal of Construction in English is to develop creative potential in children and introduce them to the outside world. The main difference between the course and the usual Design of all - the topics of the lessons are considered in English.

Construction in English is a kind of English classes for children from 3 years old on Cheryomushki. At each lesson, children will discuss a new topic: pirates, insects, planet earth, cars, various professions and more. Consideration of the topic is divided into several stages:

At the beginning of the lesson, the teacher briefly tells the children about the upcoming topic of the lesson.

This is followed by the most interesting part of the lesson, children need to assemble a figure: a cook, a pirate, a model of the earth, a bee or other design that is relevant to the topic of the lesson. During the assembly, the teacher will tell the children in detail why, for example, the planet needs bees, how they make honey, fly, sting, what color they are or why bees cannot be killed.

During the last stage, the kids finish assembling the design and run to show and talk about new achievements to their parents.

Due to the fact that all stages of the lesson will be held in English (if suddenly something is not clear to the children, it’s okay, the teacher will easily explain the meaning of each word to the little students, help him deal with it and show how to use this word in colloquial speech), kids gradually expand their vocabulary and learn how to use the phrases heard in the lessons correctly. We chose this teaching method for a reason, this approach to learning allows children to start learning a language from an early age, without learning the alphabet, words or rules. As many studies show, the method of memorization has long outlived itself for one simple reason, not only the world around us is changing, but also the children, and with them the approach to the educational program. At the moment, kids are much easier to absorb the information through research and questions. It was on these factors that we laid emphasis on removing guests from the usual English lessons that have been laid down over the years, thereby creating a creative program that allows children to develop a love for the world and other languages.
