Arduino Robotics at Kids&Robots Club on Robotics at Cheryomushki
With the onset of the new school year, the Kids & Robots Robotics Club in Cheryomushki launched a unique Arduino Robotics course. The course will be an ideal additional lesson for children from 12 to 15 years old and the most important plus of this course is that it does not require any preparation, since the guys receive all the knowledge in the Arduino classes at Cheryomushki. During 36 lessons, children study Arduino robotics starting from the basics, learn to work with the most popular Arduino platform and create various cool gadgets of any complexity.
What is an Arduino?
Arduino is a small board that includes memory and a powerful processor that allows you to connect a variety of devices:
- light bulbs;
- temperature sensors;
- routers;
- ultrasound sensors;
- magnetic door locks;
- light bulbs;
- motors and other components that are powered by electricity.
Even with such small sizes (the size of the board is not more than 5 cm), the board has unlimited possibilities.
Arduino processor operation
During the lesson, young engineers download a program that will manage all devices according to the algorithm. This small mini computer will allow children to write programs for their future mechanisms, and after writing the software part, manage them. To control during the lesson, the guys write to the processor the software part, consisting of simple and complex algorithms. Each gadget is an unusual mechanism created by a child completely independently.
The program of the future course:
• What is a microcontroller and an overview of the Arduino programming language
• How to teach an electronic board to think
• How to manage Arduino: development environment
• Electronic components
• What is electricity: voltage and current
• How to tame electricity: resistor, diode, LED
• What are sensors
• Analog and digital signals
• Assembling a mobile robot
• What is a software interface
